Testimonials
Building Value
The global apparel industry has earned itself a reputation of being the second most polluting industry in the world. It is also the industry that consumes the most amount of water and is seen to contribute heavily to our global carbon footprint. We at FAAMA realise that in order to build a truly valuable supply chain it is important to focus on not just coming together to strengthen our local manufacturing base but also to create unique value by committing to being the most sustainable, collaborative and transparent manufacturing supply chain globally. We have made a pact to collaborate at FAAMA on scaling the unique innovations of FAAMA’s member entities to minimize water consumption, waste and carbon footprint and create a fully sustainable supply chain.
As much as it is our responsibility to protect our planet, it is also our responsibility to protect our people. FAAMA and its member entities strive to give back to the country that they call home. One of FAAMA’s upcoming CSR initiatives is the institution of the Coastal Clean Up Crew - a group of FAAMA members who came together to put together an islandwide beach clean up, investing Rs. 1.5m in protecting and preserving our coastlines from the ravages of pollution.
The fabric & accessories partners to the apparel industry of Sri Lanka, hope to unite on a single platform and collectively offer innovative and holistic solutions to the industry. In the current context, an online platform is the most effective & best suited medium for such a proposition. Connecting all sectors of the industry, ranging from fabric and threads to elastics and zippers, to machines and needles to print and packaging, this unique platform will prove to be highly valuable while propelling the Apparel industry to greater heights.
